Savoy Grill reopening delayed until November

The reopening of the Savoy Grill will be delayed until seven weeks after the Savoy welcomes back guests after a closure of nearly three years.

While the Savoy is due to open again on 10 October after a lengthy refurbishment, which is believed to have cost in excess of £200m, the Savoy Grill is not taking bookings until 29 November.

A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay Holdings, which will operate the iconic restaurant, said: "The short delay is due to some small structural issues with the building, which have now been rectified."

The Savoy Grill, which will have 100 seats in the main room and a 40-seat private dining room, is to be overseen by chef-patron Stuart Gillies. It will feature classic Escoffier-inspired grill dishes such as charcoal grilled chateaubriand with pommes soufflés, king crab and prawn cocktail, and iced peach Melba.
