EuroSite Power is set to revolutionise the small-scale combined heating and power (CHP) market in the UK following the launch of its On-Site Utility service earlier this month.

The US-based firm says it can help hotels, leisure centres, hospitals and schools cut their carbon footprint and slash energy costs without them incurring any capital investment or opening costs. Uniquely, EuroSite takes responsibility for the ownership, installation and maintenance of the system as well as the cost of gas used for the service.

CHP systems allow operators to generate and buy electricity, heat, hot water and cooling on-site at prices up to 15% lower than those charged by utility suppliers. The scheme is suited to customers who spend more than £62,500 per year on natural gas.

"EuroSite Power saves customers money on their energy use at minimal risk as the company will maintain secure supply along with paying for installation and maintenance costs. There are additional environmental benefits too," said UK managing director Paul Hamblyn.
