UK Bartender of the Year takes bronze in Athens

TGI Friday’s UK Bartender of the Year Charlotte Maxwell was placed third in the European Bartender Challenge final in Athens, Greece.

Maxwell, 22, who works in London at the chain’s Covent Garden restaurant was one of more than 1,000 contestants that took part in the annual competition this year and the only female contender.

TGI Friday’s, which is run under franchise by Whitbread in the UK, has a cocktail menu consisting on more than 500 different concoctions.

The Bartender Challenge is designed to recognise and reward the best up and coming bartenders.
