London’s Capital hotel is to get a sister property next door, The Levin, according to the hotel’s owner Joseph Levin.

He announced today that the neighbouring bed and breakfast property L’Hotel, will be closed from January and will re-open next May as The Levin- a 14 bedroom urban retreat.

Henrik Muehle, general manager of The Capital Hotel since 2002 and assistant managing director of The Capital Group, will also become general manager of the Levin.

The property’s 35-seat restaurant, Le Vin, will have a glass roof opening up onto Basil Street. The tapas style menu will be created by The Capital’s two-Michelin-starred head chef Eric Chavot.

Muehle said the design of the Levin would reflect its stylish location: “There will be a dramatic use of contrasting textures and colours to create a sumptuous mood with fireplaces adding a touch of luxury to each room.”

The Capital was founded by Joseph Levin’s father in the 1970s and is the only London hotel with two Michelin stars.
