The leasehold on the Meikleour hotel in the heart of Perthshire has been sold off an asking price of £120,000.
The new tenants of the country village inn are Andrew and Kathleen Mathieson from nearby Murtly. Andrew is the former owner of the Westlands hotel in Pitlochry and a former chairman of the Perthshire Tourist Board.
The 19th century, Category B-listed inn is located in Mekleour just off the main A93 Perth to Blairgowrie Road between the rivers Tay and Isla.
The property, which makes 58% of its sales from food, has five en-suite bedrooms to sleep 10 that carry a four-star rating from the Scottish Tourist Board.
Facilities include a 30-seat wood-panelled restaurant, a 30-seat lounge bar restaurant and a 20-seat locals’ bar with stone walls, an oil burning stove and part stone-flagged floor
The first-floor private flat provides two bedrooms along with a bathroom, living room and laundry room for the owners.
Outside, the inn has a beer garden to the front and several outbuildings to the rear.
The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry handled the sale on behalf of Old England Inns.
