Restaurateur Mark Fuller is to export his successful London fish and chips restaurant Geales to the United Arab Emirates.

Fuller will open a Geales restaurant with business partner and chef Garry Hollihead at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai in October next year. The pair are in discussions to open a further two outlets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Interiors at Geales at Le Royal Méridien will be developed by Dubai-based design consultancy LW Design Group. The restaurant will include an oyster and Champagne bar as well as a 150-cover dining room and a 100-cover terrace.

The restaurant will have a separate entrance from the hotel and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu will be overseen by Hollihead.

"The menu will be much the same as the menu at Geales in London, albeit with a focus on more hammour, a local Middle Eastern fish, and less cod," Fuller said.

Fuller revealed he was also in discussions to open an Embassy Club in Qatar. His latest Embassy outlet at the "seven-star" Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi opened last week.
