Duo 1600 check-in kiosk

The Continental success of its self check-in hotel kiosks has prompted Ariane Systems to launch its outdoor Duo 1600 range to the UK. It allows small and budget hotels to provide 24/7 check-in facilities for guests - who can register, pay and receive their keys or cards - without needing to be staffed around the clock.

The three customisable units, which are available in a large choice of colours, can be wall-mounted or supplied on a foot. They're designed to be weather- and vandal-resistant and feature a touch-screen and illuminated panel.

The entry-level Duo 1610 can be stacked with magnetic cards or 14 keys and requires reservation entries to be made daily at the kiosk (where the keys are then placed) or on a hotel PC.

The 1630, a first step towards a fully automatic system, will interface with the hotel's electronic key system and can encode up to 150 magnetic cards.

The 1650 is the fully-automatic version that will interface with the hotel PMS (property management system) and electronic key system.
