The new Scotsman Ice Shot Glass AC206 from Hubbard can not only produce up to 130kg of 60g ice cubes per 24 hours, but it can also make ice glasses for serving vodka and premium spirits, saving bar operators the task of hand-carving them.
Using an inverted mould so impurities drop out, the £2,450 machine can produce up to 56 pure ice glasses per 20-minute cycle. The glasses have a side thickness of 2.5mm, a 41mm diameter and a 21ml capacity and are made from slow-melting ice that will last at least five minutes before minimal thawing sets in.
Hubbard will also be unveiling the high-capacity, low energy- and water-consuming Prodigy Modular Cuber, which uses an electronically controlled harvest-assist system to speed up production. It achieves this by pushing the cubes from their moulds rather than waiting for them to thaw and drop out, saving 10 minutes per cycle.
Details include an external air filter, front access to components, self-monitoring electronics, Auto-Alert indicator lights, and the Watersense adaptive purge control to keep the machine clean.
