Ten new products come on stream for autumn menus from Green Gourmet, which says it has the largest range of Marine Stewardship Council-accredited fish products for school meals.

They include MSC Mediterranean Salmon Portion, a 85g minced wild Alaskan salmon portion, coated in a Mediterranean version of a non-fried crumb. The product has been fortified with iron and zinc to help boost intake of these essential minerals.

Generating interest at the recent LACA conference was Biryani Bake, a 60g vegetable bake made with rice, peas and red peppers. It fits protein standards set by the School Foods Trust and is suitable for vegetarians.

There's also Great British Cooked Sliced Pork, pre-sliced in a 50-60g portion and cooked. The product is made from 100% British-reared pork and can be served hot or cold.
