Le Bistrot Pierre launches apprenticeship programme

Restaurant group Le Bistrot Pierre has launched a new apprenticeship scheme.

The nine-strong group will provide training to NVQ level in association with Charnwood College at six of its Midlands- and northern-based bistros.

Over 20 apprentices aged between 19 and 37 have taken on the nine-month course.

John Whitehead from Le Bistrot Pierre said: "The apprenticeship scheme is a great way for us to better our customer service as more staff are on hand. It also gives us an opportunity to train a motivated workforce in all aspects of catering and hospitality."

Simon Lowder from Charnwood Training Group said: "The courses allow on-the-job training so apprentices learn as they earn. It's a nationally recognised and industry-relevant qualification and ensures that people passionate about the industry receive the training and learn the skill set they need to succeed in their career."

Apprenticeship courses at Le Bistrot Pierre include a diploma in the food and beverage service, a diploma in the hospitality service, certificates in team leading, management and professional cooking to name a few.
