The Actief, a six-cabin Dutch barge that cruises the River Thames between Windsor and Oxford, would make an ideal purchase for a hotelier with wanderlust.
The barge was built in 1907 and converted in 1976 into a luxury floating hotel inspired by the style of the English country house hotel.
It can accommodate 11 guests across three suites, two twin rooms and one single cabin, all with private bathrooms.
The salon and dining room incorporates two built-in sofa areas with dining tables to seat 12 people, a library of reference books, a selection of games and amusements and a bar. More seating is provided on the sun deck.
The Actief also provides accommodation for four crew members – the captain, the chef and two stewards.
The Milton Keynes office of Christie + Co is seeking £395,000 for the freehold on the Actief on behalf of owner and operator Jonathan Parratt.
