Contract caterer Aramark has signed a development partnership with Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing.

Under the terms of the deal Wareing will work closely with Aramark’s chefs as part of a development programme offering workshops, one-on-one mentoring and coaching.

Aramark’s team will also gain first hand experience of working at the recently launched Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley restaurant in London.

Wareing said: “I am delighted to be working with Aramark, and helping to enhance the quality of service to their business dining clients.”

Sue Johnson, managing director of business dining at Aramark, said: “Our relationship with Marcus will focus on developing the culinary expertise of our chefs and we strongly believe this strategic partnership will add value to every element of business dining.”

In May Aramark rival Compass Group signed up Wareing’s former employer Gordon Ramsay Holdings at its fine dining division Restaurant Associates for training and branding opportunities.

In 2007 Gordon Ramsay opened Aramark’s London Innovation Centre in his capacity of consultant executive chef to the group. The deal between Ramsay and Aramark expired at the start of this year.

Caterer Sodexo has also got in on the Michelin-starred act with Club Gascon owners Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie signed up as part of its chef development programme.
