Talkington Bates has expanded its portfolio of care sector contracts with five new contracts in the past seven months. Its regional operation Talkington Bates Midlands has won two Extra Care developments in Bristol - Ash Lea Court and Blaise Weston Court, part of the Hanover Group .

Taylor Shaw has won a £750,000 bundled services contract at Redcar Community College. The caterer, which specialises in the education sector, will provide both catering and cleaning services at the college in a three-year deal.

Independent contract catering firm Catering Academy has won a new £2m deal at Rochdale Sixth Form College. As part of the five-year contract, which begins when the new college opens this month, the caterer will provide vending and hospitality services to the 1,300 full-time students.

Sodexo's Remote Sites division has won a five-year contract worth up to €100m (£87.5m) to provide offshore hotel services in the North Sea to Norwegian oil firm Teekay Petrojarl, creating 80 new jobs. The deal will see Sodexo operate on five sites, will bring in almost £8.8m in revenue annually.

One in 10 elderly people in the UK are at risk from malnutrition, newly released research from the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) claims.
With almost a quarter (23%) of the UK population set to be 65 or older by 2033 the NACC predicts malnutrition among older sections of the community will only get worse, costing the NHS millions.

Events caterer Rhubarb has orchestrated a deal with the Royal Albert Hall, ousting Compass Group's Leith's brand which has held the contract for the past 15 years.
