UK consumers eating out 19.7 times per month

British consumers are still going out to eat and drink, in some cases even more so than before, despite the challenging economic conditions. That's the finding from the latest Taste of the Nation survey conducted by deloitte and BDRC Continental.

Jeremy Lee and Tristan Welch to leave D&D London

Two of D&D London's most celebrated chefs are to leave their restaurants within the company, with Blueprint Café's Jeremy Lee and Launceston Place's Tristan Welch both moving on. Lee, who has been head chef at Blueprint Café for 16 years, is to join Sam and Eddie Hart's Quo Vadis in Soho.

Reservations for restaurant chains leap 25% during strike

BookatableRestaurant chains saw a 25% week-on-week spike in online reservations as a result of Wednesday's strike action, restaurant booking website Bookatable has revealed. The site said that mobile bookings also increased 23% as parents searched for last-minute offers on their phones.
