Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives recently appointed Peter Watt-Pringle as corporate social responsibility manager. Prior to joining the resort he spent eight years in South Africa doing fieldwork research in ichthyology (the study of fish) and fisheries science.

Stuart Procter is leaving the Stafford London by Kempinski after six years as the hotel's general manager. He will leave the 105-bedroom hotel tomorrow to move on to a new hotel project in the capital, which he can not yet reveal.
Procter, a former Acorn winner, joined the Stafford eight years ago from the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, where he was general manager.

Jane Renton has become the new estate manager at Greville and Thorburn houses, Belgravia. As general manager of Jumeirah Lowndes hotel for more than six years, she oversaw the closure for major refurbishments and took part in the successful repositioning of the property.

Eibhear Coyle has been promoted to the newly created role of executive chef director of catering at Lancaster London hotel, overlooking Hyde Park. Coyle spent six years working as the executive chef resort operations at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas.

Commercial and contracts director at Huhtamaki, Neil Whittal, has become the new chairman of the Foodservice Packaging Association. He succeeds outgoing chairman Greg Fitchett, of Daymark UK, who has been leading the organisation for the past three years.
