VisitBritain has launched a new business networking event to attract overseas tourism, in conjunction with the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) and UKinbound. The bodies have joined forces to create The Hosted Buyers Marketplace (HBM), which will be held at Wembley Stadium on 19 March 2012.

Delia Smith has announced she is to relinquish her role as head of Delia's Canary Catering at Norwich City Football Club. The move follows Smith's 70th birthday earlier this year and is a bid to "reduce her workload".

Independent contract caterer Bartlett Mitchell has become the first contract catering company to receive a Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) accreditation. The silver accreditation, for its site at Autodesk in Farnborough, recognises the steps taken by the caterer to develop the unit's sustainability credentials.

A report that is claimed to include tens of thousands of defamatory comments and misrepresentation on review site TripAdvisor has been presented to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). Online reputation management firm KwikChex.com said it had highlighted examples of reviews posted on TripAdvisor that are racist and bigoted.

Dutch airline KLM is to offer economy-class passengers à la carte meals, it announced today. Bucking the sector's current trend for offering passengers less in-flight food, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will now offer travellers on intercontinental flights the option of ordering à la carte.
