Education caterer Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has been awarded the Soil Association's Food for Life Gold Award for its 26 contracts in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The caterer was recognised for providing freshly prepared, locally sourced, organic, free-range and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) meals.

JD Wetherspoon has been voted winner of the Loo of the Year Awards 2011 in the hospitality sector. Independent judges assessed hundreds of toilets in the UK in the hospitality sector, including hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafés, coffee shops and quick-service/fast-food restaurants.

A social enterprise concept linking allotment and small farm owners with restaurants and cafés has won its founder the Bespoke Hotels' Entrepreneur of the Year award. Harriet Small's Loco idea is intended to operate through an innovative voucher scheme and a bicycle-based distribution network.
