Michelin-starred south London restaurant Chez Bruce is set to close for six weeks in the summer as chef patron Bruce Poole plans to expand into the building next door. The restaurant on Wandsworth Common will close for the extension works on 19 July and will reopen at the end of August.

The Oberoi hotel in Mumbai, has reopened 18 months after it was extensively damaged when militants stormed the Indian city. More than 30 of the hotel’s staff and guests were killed in the attack, in which a total of nearly 170 people died.

Food-led café/bar chain Loungers has revealed plan to spend £500,000 converting a former Woolworths store in Bournemouth into its latest site.The new venue, to be called Ludo Lounge, is expected to open in early July with the creation of 20 new jobs.

The Old Swan hotel in Harrogate is to undergo a £4m revamp following news that it is to be managed by Classic Lodges. The hotel - where Agatha Christie once famously hid away for 10 days in 1926 - will add 25 bedrooms and a treatment spa to its current total of 136. Its event and meeting facilities will also be upgraded.

Restaurateur and hotelier Mark Fuller is to relaunch his Inn on the Green hotel in Cookham Dean in Berkshire this spring. Fuller, whose company Concept Venues opened the Sanctum Soho hotel last year, will relaunch the hotel as Sanctum on the Green in April.

Italian chef-restaurateur Aldo Zilli is to relaunch his flagship Signor Zilli restaurant in Soho as a vegetarian dining concept next month. Zilli Green, which will open on 14 February following a redesign, will offer a menu made up entirely of meat and seafood-free dishes.
