Pub sector groups have reacted angrily to the news in today's Budget that duty on wine, beer and spirits is to rise by 2% above inflation. The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) warned that increases in alcohol taxes blighted "any hope of increased sales for the average community pub".
