Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's high-street restaurant chain Jamie's Italian saw profits soar by 181% in 2010 as the company continued to expand its rustic Italian food offer across Britain. Jamie's Italian, which was launched in 2008, reported pre-tax profits of £4.65m in the 12 months to 2 January 2011.

A husband and wife who claim they were unfairly given their marching orders from managerial posts at a Jamie Oliver branded catering company must wait to hear the outcome of their employment tribunal fight for compensation. Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal has joined forces with catering company Rhubarb Food Design to collaborate on events. The team behind the Drapers Arms pub in Islington, north London, has taken over the Devonshire in Chiswick from Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH). First revealed by Caterer's restaurant blog, Guide Girl, the move will see the west London pub reopen under the ownership of Nick Gibson on 4 July.

Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) is to continue to operate its restaurant at Claridge's but the hotel's owner, the Maybourne Hotel Group, has extended the contract by only 12 months. The celebrity chef has run the former Michelin-starred restaurant at the five-star Mayfair hotel since 2001.
