Victor Ceserani, who celebrated his 90th birthday last week, is the chef, teacher and author who pioneered catering education in the UK during his 30 years or so as head of catering at Ealing College.

The former head of Prue Leith’s cookery school in London is set to launch her own venture in Edinburgh this winter. Fiona Burrell, former principal of the Leiths School Of Food And Wine, plans to open the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School in the Scottish capital in December.
