Elior has launched its first hotel concession business at Starwood's inaugural UK-based Aloft property, Aloft London ExCel. The contract caterer was appointed to operate the hotel's FEDE restaurant in a 10-year deal worth £14m.

The Blue Elephant restaurant, which opened on London's Fulham Broadway 25 years ago, is to relocate to Imperial Wharf from January 2012. The Thai restaurant will also offer a new menu, inspired by the Blue Elephant Bangkok and overseen by Nooror Somany, founder of the group.

Morgans Hotel Group has confirmed that it has agreed to open its first Mondrian hotel in Europe, within Sea Containers House on London's South Bank, overlooking the River Thames. The 360-bedroom hotel is expected to become the sixth hotel under the cutting-edge, fantasy Mondrian brand.

Thornbridge Brewery has opened a new bar, Dada, in the centre of Sheffield. It is the second new pub opening for the company in the past 12 months. Dada will feature a regularly-changing list of Thornbridge beers, including a focus on their increasing keg range and a number of world classic beers.
