Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has parted company with the chief financial officer of his multi-Michelin-starred restaurant group. Mystery surrounds the departure of Nick Fletcher, who is understood to have left Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) earlier this summer.

This year’s finalists in the BBC Radio 4 Food & Farming Awards have been announced. The awards include categories for best take-away, dinner lady/man, local food retailer and local food producer. Gordon Ramsay has abandoned this year’s annual chef’s scholarship which bears his name due to a lack of funding. A spokeswoman for Ramsay said that the Gordon Ramsay Scholar, which was launched in 2001, “is being rested this year” due to a lack of sponsorship.

The average cost of eating out in London has declined for the first time in more than a decade, a restaurant survey has found. According to the 2010 Zagat London Restaurants survey, the average cost of a meal has fallen by 0.4% to £40.39 this year, marking the first drop since 1997.
