Pub operator TLC Inns reported a strong festive period, with like-for-like sales up by 8% in December 2011. The company, founded by Steve Haslam and Jo Drain in 2006, operates six pubs and restaurants in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire.

Novus Leisure, which operates 52 bars predominantly in London's West End and City district, said it would deliver year-on-year profit growth of 20% after a strong performance in the festive period. Novus said it saw an 18% increase in like-for-like sales from 21 November to 1 January.
