Celebrity chef Nick Nairn is to open a new cookery school in Aberdeen. Nairn, who already has a school in Port of Menteith, Stirling, will create 10 jobs when he opens the school in Back Wynd next year. As well as all-day cooking experiences, the school will feature quick-cook classes for those short of time.

Indian chef Vivek Singh, owner of London's Cinnamon Club in Westminster, is to open a new restaurant and bar in the West End. The chef-restaurateur, who also owns Cinnamon Kitchen and Anise in the City, has taken over the site of the Red Bar on Kingly Street, off Carnaby Street in Soho.

Pollen Street Social chef-proprietor Jason Atherton is to open a restaurant in Singapore. The chef, who was awarded a Michelin star for his London restaurant earlier this month, has bought a Chinese launderette in Chinatown, which he will convert to a 15-cover "gastro tapas bar".

D&D London's Meza restaurant and bar in Soho is to launch a new Indian dining concept next month.
