The Springhead Brewery has created three new jobs after it moved to a larger site in the village of Laneham, Nottinghamshire. Mel Lavin has joined as regional account manager for the local direct trade; and Mike Stockley has become national account manager for the South of England.

Robert Cook has been elected president of HOSPA, the newly created hospitality professionals association for finance, revenue management and IT. The Malmaison and Hotel du Vin chief executive has taken over from David Cook, who was president under the organisation's previous incarnation as BAHA.

Richard Balfour-Lynn has stepped down as chief executive of the De Vere Group, with immediate effect. He is leaving the group - comprising 13 De Vere hotels, 29 De Vere Venues, 26 De Vere Village hotels and the De Vere Academy of Hospitality - together with the company's chief financial officer, Jag Singh.

The Crown Group's Seasoned Events has promoted Adrian Booth to the role of executive chef. Following two years as a chef at the food and events business, Booth will now assume responsibility for food development, menu planning and food design for all of the company's events.

Aaron Craig has joined North Yorkshire restaurant Yorebridge House as head chef. Originally from Ireland, Craig worked in restaurants for over 10 years at places such as Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck in Bray, Solberge Hall near Northallerton and the Otter and Fish in Hurworth near Darlington.

The Brewery has appointed Phillipa Thomas to the newly created role of event sales and wedding co-ordinator. While studying business and events management at the University of Gloucestershire, Thomas completed her placement year at the London venue.

Colliers International has named Julian Troup as head of its UK hotels agency team. Troup joined the company in 2007 to lead the UK corporate hotels team, and his new role sees him take charge of the entire Colliers UK hotel agency operation.

Lewis takes on his new role, based at the company's central office in York, with over 35 years' experience in the hospitality and travel industries.

The former director of sales and marketing of Von Essen, Greg Ward, has joined Amazing Retreats to help grow its portfolio of hotels and exclusive use properties. Ward left Von Essen several weeks after the company collapsed into administration in April with debts of more than £250m.

The Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Valerie Stewart as general manager of the Radisson Blu hotel, Leeds. Stewart joined Rezidor in February 2005 as the human resources and training manager at the Radisson Blu hotel, Birmingham, later progressing to director of operations.

The Eden Hotel Collection has announced that Adam Brown will be head chef of the newly acquired Brockencote Hall hotel. Brown was head chef of the Eden Hotel Collection's Arden hotel, where he gained two AA Rosettes for the hotel's restaurant shortly after its opening.

The Bell, Fetcham, has made two additions to its brigade. Alain Fricker has joined as sous chef, while Daniel Fielder has been made chef de partie. Fricker has vast experience in hospitality, having trained with Andre Chavagnon and alongside Raymond Blanc in the 1960s.
