• Role: Pub and Night Club General Manager
• Start Date: As soon as possible – mid November 08
• Location: South West London
• Salary: From circa £35,000 (negotiable – please tell me what you would be looking for thanks)

• Managing: Circa 20 full time staff with 3 in the leadership team
• Contract: This would probably be a 3 month interim contract to start off with…and review to a full time position post this.

The Pub and Club

Just a short walk from the nearest Tube station this Pub / Club location is prime and incredibly exciting. On entering The Pub, you are welcomed with gorgeous chandaliers and exposed brick-work. The contemporary, relaxed and funky mood is set for all of the customers to have a really great time. Music is played on the most high tech sound systems by creative DJ’s whom ‘pump up the volume’ enhancing the electric atmosphere. Nightly there are theme events, from Dance, to Garage, to 80’s and more. A plethora of clientele mix in the Pub on the leather loungers and in the booths too. Delicious food is served (circa 40 covers) by the hard working cheffing team during the day and evening to cater for demanding taste buds. The staff are friendly, funky and fun. Cold lagers, beers and wines are for sale to whet the appetite of the visitors. The Pub can hold up to 250, but it will seem like more with the party feeling…especially as it’s open till 4am. There is an attractive beer garden too.

The Club has its own private entrance guarded by some of the most friendly, professional doormen you’ll ever have the pleasure of encountering (although they look as though they could squash trouble with their little finger if it became necessary). Up some very ‘glam stairs’, there’s a large room with beautifully restored period features, a sweep of gold delineating the curve in the ceiling above the bar that runs the length of the room, and lots of rich, dark wood that’s polished to a high shine. Cool and stylish, guest DJ’s are active on the decks mixing their tunes and ensuring everyone is dancing and partying hard. The DJs play out from behind the bar whilst live bands set up at the far end of the room. Music ranges from Hard House to Dance and more, catering for everyone’s taste.Room for about 150 means the atmosphere is hot…just like the people inside it. Through a doorway at the far end there’s a small dining area with striking turquoise and gold wallpaper and adjacent is a private dining area that’s available for members’ private parties (has played host to Public Enemy, Weddings, Raves and even EMI). The Club is open on a Friday and Saturday night and outlasts it’s ‘sister Pub’ by staying open till 6am.

And even more…

This Pub and Club also has a small hotel, events room, roof terrace with jacuzzi attached to the property. There are plans for development of the site into a really luxurious and funky entity. I have seen the place, and it’s really something special…This role could develop into a position sitting with the Directors and looking after 2 properties.

You The New General Manager
You will be currently a quality pub / hotel GM or DGM from a small boutique funky hotel with experience of very strong leadership. You will definitely know your Basemant Jaxx from your Basement Jazz. Able to show experience of running a profitable Pub and F&B Operation, plus a strong understanding of a ‘wet’ funky and trendy function; you will have endless energy and oodles of enthusiasm to bring to the party. Well presented and pretty ‘cool’ with it, you won’t mind extremely late nights and sometimes ‘schmoozing’ with the London DJ illuminate. Experienced in running a really ‘tight ship’ and focussing on revenue development and bottom line costs, your passion for ensuring the ‘Guests’ are having an amazing time is essential. You will have the competence to hire, train, develop and lead your team to ensure the hotel, bar and club becomes the ‘place to be’. Your networking will be exceptional and you will bring great contacts to the role too.This position will see you managing a team of circa 20 (4 in the kitchen too)
