General Manager – City Bar & Club

The Company:

Our client operates a number of premium bars in high footfall venues in major urban markets, with a substantial food offer and corporate business. They have a pre-eminent position in the West End of London and the City of London markets and substantial venues in the Regions. They are a progressive, vibrant company with a prominent presence in the high volume leisure market.

Job Role - General Manager:

This role involves the day-to-day running and development of this stylish cosmopolitan, high volume city veunue, aimed at professionals who enjoy great standards of food and liquor service in a contemporary environment. Visionary leadership is a cornerstone of the company’s success. Recruitment of new staff, initial and on-going training, and the quality of product and service provided are key to your success.

This venue offers the opportunity for someone with entrepreneurial flair to develop the business. The client is looking for an experienced General Manager to focus on quality and service so as to appeal to a widespread customer base, creating a safe, friendly and inviting atmosphere.

- Staff management and development
- Achieving targets set by the Area Manager, ensuring that maximum profitability is achieved
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Merchandising the bar and the front of house areas
- Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met and adhered to
- Driving sales through own their creativity and membership

Key Attributes - General Manager:

The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to be involved in the development of this flagship site.

- Previous experience in quality late-night venue management
- Mobility is required as travel will be involved initially during training
- High volume experience in quality dining and bar operations - minimum £40k weekly
- Local knowledge of the market place in which you successfully operate
- Demonstrate an ability to build public relations in the local market
- Excellent operational and organisational skills
- Maintain and control high standards of diverse customer base
- People management skills – with the ability to inspire the team
- Financial awareness
- Merchandising and presentation skills
- Forward thinking – ability to think outside of the box
- Ambition to continually drive the business forward
