Jurys Inn Exeter located in the City Centre has 174 Bedrooms and is currently recruiting for the position of:

Accommodation Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accommodation Manager to be part of our new team.



The purpose of the Accommodation Manager role is to ensure the consistent delivery of high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness and maintenance of all bedrooms and throughout the Inn. To comply wih the Inns established quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have excellent management, leadership, organisation and communication skills, and previous experience managing a department and team in a similar environment.

They must have the ability and a positive attitude towards training, developing and motivating staff to deliver exceptional guest service and be able to demonstrate this.

A hands on approach is required, as is a strong emphasis upon driving and improving standards.

Key Result areas-

· Being aware of all the business in the Inn including arrivals, departures (and conferences) and to ensure proactive planning takes place to ensure the guests expectations are met.

· Being aware of and actioning any guests special requests.

· Continually developing new knowledge and skills to ensure best practice service delivery.

· A thorough knowledge and consistent delivery of the company standards in the department and a general knowledge of all standards within the Inn

· A thorough knowledge of the Jurys Inns product and the organisation.

· Ensuring all costs are controlled without compromising standards and service delivery and looking for ways to effectively reduce costs.

· Regularly monitoring stocks of Housekeeping supplies, linen and consumable items.

· Ensuring that security measures and procedures are in place and adhered to.

· Maintain payroll costs within targets and seek reductions where possible.

· Proactively manage energy usage within the department

· Agreeing departmental objectives for self and the team.

· Carrying out interviews and contributing to the recruitment decisions.

· Regularly reviewing individual and team performance against objectives and providing feedback though on the job training, appraisals, job chats and team meetings and where necessary taking corrective action.

· Developing the Housekeeping teams skills & knowledge though developing and implementing department training plans to meet the business needs, including 15 minutes daily training and the monthly departmental training plan.

· Maintaining a good working relationship with the Housekeeping Agency - where applicable

· Understanding relevant H&S legislation and the implications on the operation of the department including HACCP & COSHH

· Ensuring that safe and healthy working practices are implemented at all times.

· Awareness of the emergency procedures, full knowledge of the fire manual, and to ensure that all staff and supervisors are similarly aware.

· Upkeep of equal opportunities policy to ensure that there is a positive culture and neutral working environment.

· To take accountability for and control of the lost property items within the Inn.



A working knowledge of Opera and SAP systems would be an advantage.

This is a full time position working 5 days out of 7.

Salary £16- 18,000 depending on experience
