To own and manage the end to end delivery of business solution projects, using the full range of accepted best practice techniques (PRINCE2, PRAM and PMI Guide) to ensure projects successfully deliver through control of quality, cost, delivery and customer satisfaction
Skills / Experience
• Degree or graduate calibre or suitably experienced.
• Must be highly literate and numerate.
• Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent) preferential
• Proven project management skills and knowledge
• Excellent client relationship management skills
• Experience (and success) in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent communication and presentational skills
• Proven ability to manage and motivate people and deal effectively with internal and external senior management
• Strong inter-personal skills and proven team building experience.
• Calm under pressure and capable of dealing with difficult situations.
• Attention to detail, highly organised, methodical and capable of prioritisation.
• Proven commercial acumen
• Experience of negotiating and presenting confidently internally / externally.
• Able to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Comfortable with the manipulation of significant documentation.
• Good awareness of internet delivered solutions and associated hardware infrastructures
• Able to track resource and project costs.
• Able to extract key information and formulate a planned method of service or project delivery.
• Full clean driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
• Take end to end responsibility and ownership of allocated projects, often running more than one concurrently.
• Assist Pre-sales activity / Develop project proposals.
• Initiate the project and oversee the generation and agreement of either the formal Project Initiation Document or the Contract.
• Identify the critical success factors of the project.
• Prepare Project, Stage and if necessary, Exception plans in conjunction with Team Managers, and gain agreement and buy in of client Project Board.
• Build and effectively manage the Project Team, to include where appropriate customer and third party supplier management, resolving any team issues which arise
• Maintain motivation of self and team during challenging times throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage and co-ordinate the project documentation, maintaining strict configuration management standards at all times.
• Take end to end responsibility for the management of business and project risks and issues, from initial identification during project initiation through to project closure, including the development of contingency plans.
• Manage the production of required project products.
• Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources, and proactively initiate / escalate corrective action where necessary.
• Management of project budget and activity forecasts.
• Prepare and present project highlight / End Stage reports on agreed frequencies.
• Full responsibility for managing the Change Control process and negotiating required scope changes / associated costs with the customer during a project.
• Control scope and cost creep whilst providing flexible solutions to client change requests.
• Close the project effectively and efficiently, completing lessons learned review and preparing end of project report.
• Be self motivated and have the ability to motivate others.
