JOB DESCRIPTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Key Responsibilities include:
- Adopting a hands on approach to ensuring the smooth running of the Bridge Restaurant, planning ahead and anticipating business needs
- Ensuring all department activities result in guest expectations being met and exceeded
- Maintaining standards in accordance with QHotels brand standards and departmental SOP in place
- Being aware of all current and pending business and completing staff rota accordingly
- All people management activities within the department with the support of the assistant restaurant manager; includes appraisals, recruitment, grievance, disciplinary and absence management
- Training and development
- Carrying out Duty Management Shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Essential Skills and Experience
- strong customer service background with excellent communication skills
- sound operational experience of 4 star standards
- proven experience of line management role, taking direct responsibility for team in hotel restaurant
- knowledge of wines and beverages
- budget skills; knowledge of Forecasting and Wage Cost Percentage
- Qualification for Personal License Holders

Opened in June 2004, The Cambridge Belfry is an elegant modern hotel with excellent facilities, located just 8 miles from Cambridge and the M11, next to Cambourne Village . The hotel is a superb location for conference needs, with a range of 8 conference and banqueting rooms catering for up to 275 people. The three largest rooms are also ideally suited for weddings and dinner dances.
