A number of new and enhanced chef competitions have been added to next year’s Salon Culinaire International de Londres, which will host more than 80 contests at Hotelympia early next year.

A new business rearing ethically-farmed quail has secured a deal to provide meat for Norfolk-based Flying Kiwi Inns, owned by chef Chris Coubrough. Norfolk Quail, based in Great Ryburgh, was established by poultry farmers John and Ellie Savory, who with 12 years' experience in the poultry industry have expanded their business to include quail after discovering that much of the quail meat served in UK restaurants was imported from France.

The Foodservice Packaging Association has launched its 2012 awards, which will be held at the Grand Hotel, Brighton, on 8 March 2012. The categories include the FPA Manufacturer of the year; the FPA Sustainability Award; FPA Product Innovation of the Year and the Foodservice Operator of the Year Award.
