Police have begun an investigation into allegations that food served by Eurest at a London crown court were spiked with urine. The advocates' lounge in Snaresbrook Crown Court was closed after police were contacted when judges and barristers complained the food smelled "a bit off".

Hamburger restaurant chain Byron has announced it is to stop serving its hamburgers rare, following the intervention of a local authority. A London Vietnamese restaurant has been fined more than £5,000 after rodent faeces were found in the food.
