Leading industry charity Springboard raised nearly £150,000 at its 21st birthday celebrations at London's Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, on Friday night. Sixteen-year old Jessica Higgins has been crowned winner of Futurechef 2011. Higgins saw off stiff competition from 11 other finalists with her menu, impressing a panel of high profile judges, including Theo Randall, Cyrus Todiwala OBE and Joe Queen, led by David Mulcahy of Sodexo.

Amy Dignon, restaurant manager at the Cameron House hotel in Loch Lomond has won the Savoy Gastronomes’ Olive Barnett Award 2010. Dignon won the award at a ceremony in the newly-refurbished Savoy hotel in London, beating seven other finalists.
