Story of the week: Last Friday saw the rather unexpected release of the results of the 2010 Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland, which were unveiled five days ahead of schedule after online retailer Amazon accidentally shipped copies of the guide ahead of its publication date.

A Glasgow chippie has been named the 2009 Fish & Chip Shop of the Year by seafood industry association Seafish. The Atlantic Fast Food fish and chip shop, which is the third Scottish business to win the competition in as many years, beat off chippies from across the UK to take the coveted title.

Italian chef-restaurateur Aldo Zilli is to relaunch his flagship Signor Zilli restaurant in Soho as a vegetarian dining concept next month. Zilli Green, which will open on 14 February following a redesign, will offer a menu made up entirely of meat and seafood-free dishes.
