Hello – I’m Kerstin, reporter on the news desk of the Caterer & Hotelkeeper and I cover the fine dining sector and look after the new openings and Caterer Loves sections of the magazine.
I’m originally from Cape Town, South Africa, but have been living in London since April 2003. While I've been working in magazines for a number of years, it wasn’t until recently that I joined the hospitality sector, as previously I was involved in covering the design and advertising industries at publications including Frame magazine in Amsterdam and Design Week in London.
I joined the news desk of Caterer in September 2006, after having done some freelance work for the mag in 2005, and was lucky enough to be handed the fine dining sector as my area of coverage. I’m hugely passionate about restaurants, and couldn’t have asked for a better sector to cover.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking for friends, going out for lunch or dinner (not breakfast as my boyfriend’s fry up is the best in the world!) and travelling around Europe. My favourite city is Barcelona and I dream of living there one day and writing a book about Catalonian cookery.
