The Restaurant

Raymond%20Blanc.jpgSo, BBC2's new reality show, The Restaurant, starring Raymond Blanc, began last night

The programme features nine couples whose dream is to run their own eatery. They have to create their perfect restaurant and then open the doors to the paying public.

Each week, one of the restaurants will be eliminated, with the overall winner getting to run their own restaurant, financially backed and personally supported by Blanc with a six-figure sum of his own money.

It was basically The Apprentice meets Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares with a bit of Big Brother thrown in.

There were plenty of tears before bedtime (amongst the ladies anyway) and a couple of particularly annoying characters - the nasal American Jacqui springs to mind - but I thought the programme worked quite well.

What were your thoughts? Let us know.

Simon Dance :

The Restaurant is a fantastic show, I absolutely love the format and what’s strange is that I discovered the twins (Laura & Jessica) from Green and Brown’s restaurant on this promotional staff website, http://www.freshagents.co.uk/Promo/List.aspx?nav=42&type=3&gender=2

So perhaps they can come and cook in our family kitchen when they win!
