Gordon's little lambs

cutelamb.jpg Gordon Ramsay's at it again. After the turkeys and his two adorable piggies, Trinny and Susannah, he now plans to rear a flock of lambs only to then slaughter them on his Channel 4 TV show the F Word.

Unfortunately for Gordon, however, the garden at his Wandsworth pad in south London, where he brought up the birds and pigs, isn't quite big enough for the sweet little things and so he's asked his celebrity pals Victoria and David Beckham to accommodate them on their 25-acre Hertfordshire grounds instead.

Angela Hartnett's dreams

Hartnett%20pic.bmpMany start out young dreaming of being the next Gordon Ramsay but this was not the case of his protoge Angela Hartnett who had dreams of a different kind.

Poor Angela suffered when she started her career with the stress of being a full-time trainee under Ramsay Hartnett admitted at last week's Good Food Show that the stress of being the only woman to get a bollocking in the kitchen from the man himself regularly made her return home to Wales in floods of tears.

During one break for Easter Hartnett admitted to a disturbed night's sleep dreaming of the restaurant burning down in flames just so she did not have to return to the Hell of the kitchen.

Worse though were her dreams about Marcus Wareing. At the time Wearing had the keys to the restaurant and was responsible for its opening on a daily basis. Hartnett confessed that the stress of the job was so much that she would often dream that Wearing would never turn up to open the restaurant because 'something unfortunate' had happened to him on the way to work.

With an Italian mother Hartnett might have a few Sicillian contacts who specialise in 'something unfortunate' happening...

Ramsay rant on seasonal food

Ramsay.jpg Has Gordon Ramsay been knocking back Royal Hospital Road cooking sherry and gonzo phoning Five Live again? That seems to be the public opinion in reaction to his latest diatribe on British cooking, with responses springing up like weedy shoots of roquet on the BBC forum this morning.

“Seems a bit ill thought out to say the least. Farmers in developing countries have it bad enough already with the huge distortions, barriers and unfairness of the CAP, this would be the nail in the coffin for many poor people in Africa. Just to please the Islington dinner party set? Don't give up the day job Ramsay...” says Jon Cooper in Herts.

Vicious…

How do Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver cram it all in?

Nancy Dell'Olio is reportedly seeing Marco Pierre WhiteIt seems that there's never a dull moment in the life of a celebrity chef... and never a day that they're out of the news...

Marco Pierre White spoke in Monday's Times about cruising, sandals and democracy whilst Tuesday's Mirror reported that (in between filming his latest TV series in the US) the "explosive chef and the highly-volatile Nancy Dell'Olio are now an item." Well, with Sven Goran Eriksson now off to to manage the Mexico national team, the coast is clear for MPW. Just imagine the rows over shampoo though.

Meanwhile Gordon Ramsay got a dose of his own medicine as Liam Gallagher had a few F-Words for the ubiquitious chef, and finds himself in more competition with his wife Tana, who, not content with outselling her husband's last cookbook with her own Family Kitchen, decided it's now time to take on her fiery-husband on-screen, declaring herself ready to do a cooking show with Gordon according to Tuesday's Daily Record.

Several papers also reported on Monday on how Gordon gets his kids to eat greens... a model for parents everywhere.

Jamie Oliver had a busy Monday as the debut single from his protégé Tim Kay (on which Jamie plays drums) was released on the same day he opened his new Italian restaurant in Oxford.
