Why Starbucks need to tune in, turn off and go green

Tap.jpgToday's Evening Standard claims coffee chain Starbucks wastes 23 million litres of water a day through its policy of leaving taps running to avoid staff passing on germs by turning them on and off.

Starbucks executives will find all sorts of useful information in our Green Month channel about saving natural resources - though I must admit it never occurred to us to include "don't run taps all day across your 10,000-strong chain" in any of our 'top tips' list.

Thank you for such a smart post! As many early morning runs as I've made to Starbucks, and as many times as I've purchased their wonderful French Roast coffee for one of my parties or events... I never questioned it; I automatically assumed they were a "green" company. As much as I love their product, now that your light has been shed on this, I'm in a quandry over something that I love. I'm going to have to consider whether or not I want to purchase coffee from a large company that apparently feels "above the law", acting irresponsibly.ou! Again, thank y
