Well, it's the first and only web awards for the food and hospitality community. At Caterersearch.com we believe that it's important to recognise and reward the people and organisations responsible for developing some of the most effective and best food and hospitality websites on the Internet today. And that's what it's all about.
Of course, winning a Caterersearch.com Web Award is also a marketing opportunity for the award winning website. Via Caterersearch.com and Caterer and Hotelkeeper, shortlisted entrants, winners and sponsors are placed in the spotlight before the biggest community of hospitality professionals - some 250,000 of their peers.

Last year, the American Express Hospitality Monitor found that 62% of diners that book ahead do their research on the internet.
62%! That number says to me straight away why it's important to build a great website. If your potential customers are looking for you on the internet, make sure that they can find you. And when they do find you, make sure that what they see meets their needs.
Ask yourself these 10 questions...
1. Could your mother-in-law use your website?
2. Is it built in a way that enables search engines (such as Google) to accurately index your business?
3. Can you easily find out opening times, location (address, map) and contact details?
4. If you run special offers, are these clearly shown and kept up to date?
5. Is the navigation between pages obvious?
6. Does the site represent in a visual way what you stand for? (e.g. value, quirkiness, wholesome, value, choice, service etc.)
7. Can visitors sign up to an email newsletter service to receive your latest offers, news and information on events?
8. Do you offer online reservations, and can you do this from your homepage easily?
9. Does the site represent what you want to say to all of your potential audience types? (customers, suppliers, staff, investors etc.)
10. Do you use inspiring imagery to good effect?
These are the types of questions that we would ask if a restaurant wanted advice on "what do I need to do to build a good website".
Why do you need a good website? The same reason you would want your front of house staff to be courteous and offer good service. The same reason you'd want your chef to produce great food. The same reason you want a clean and efficient operation: because that's what your customers want.
Building a great website is primarily for your customer's benefit. That, if anything should make business sense.
Livebookings Network are proud to sponsor the web awards. We look forward to celebrating your achievements.
