JOB DESCRIPTION
You will assist in all sections of the kitchen operation, to ensure that statutory obligations and Company standards are met, that a smooth, efficient service is maintained and that the product provided to our guests is of the highest standards
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to the prescribed standards and maintain a workload rate that is sufficient to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen operation and the avoidance of interruptions to service
Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations in connection with deliveries, food items are stored correctly, stocks rotated and temperature recorded, food items are handled, cooked and served correctly
Supervise Trainee Chefs, particularly when they are using potentially dangerous equipment
Establish and use clear lines of communication within the kitchen operation and with restaurant/Conference & Banqueting Staff
Report all faults or damage to equipment in accordance with hotel procedures
Have knowledge of and follow Company and statutory Health & safety, Hygiene, Security and Emergency procedures
Support all members of the team to achieve and maintain operational standards to the highest possible level in respect of service, hygiene and Health & safety, and ensure that there is minimal wastage
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Previous experience in similar role
Minimum 1 years as a Commis Chef
Knowledge and understanding of current Food Hygiene Regulations Basic Food Hygiene Certificate NVQ Level 1 and 2 Food Preparation or: • Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery (awarded by ASET or City and Guilds) • BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Hospitality • Foundation degree, BTEC HNC/HND or degree in subjects such as culinary arts management, and hospitality management
Previous supervisory experience

Ability to work unsupervised
