Chef

We are looking for a chef who can work independently, preparing good quality food for around 60 covers at a nursing home in the South East of London. Working hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm and you will be required to prepare a continental breakfast, followed by a wholesome lunch and finally a light supper such as sandwiches and sausage rolls etc. You will be working with a general assistant who does the washing up and basic food preparation, but you will have the overall responsibility of ensuring that the food prepared meets the required quality and food safety standards.

Other duties include making food orders, ensuring the budget is adhered to, maintaining the cleanliness and productivity of the kitchen and all food safety and health and safety requirement.

The successful applicant will be required to have relevant catering qualifications such as GNVQ/NVQ and have at least 6 years experience in industry demonstrating both career progression and stability. You will also be required to have a good knowledge of dietary requirements, particularly that of the older generations.

The basic salary is ??22,000 per annum, based on 40 hours a week, working straight shifts. You will also be required to work 2 weekends a month.
