Around about lunch time yesterday we were approached by a source, who had a copy of the yet to be released Good Food Guide 2011.

Amazon, say that the guide isnt due for release until 8th Sept.

The question is, with the massive impact that social networking sites are having on our lives is it better to leak a guide book prior to release & thrive on the supposed negative publicity?

For those interested, our post can be found here

Thanks Chef Hermes!

We've just received a press release revealing The Good Food Guide 2011 Top 10 restaurants. For the third year The Fat Duck takes the top spot and receives the highest accolade of 10 out of 10 rating.

The resuts are as follows:

1. The Fat Duck, Bray, Berkshire (10)
2. Gordon Ramsay, Royal Hospital Road, London (9)
3. Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Great Milton, Oxfordshire (8)
4. L’Enclume, Cartmel, Cumbria (8)
5. Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, Rock, Cornwall (8)
6. Restaurant Sat Bains, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire (8)
7. Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley, London (8)
8. Le Champignon Sauvage, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (8)
9. Pied-à-Terre, London (8)
10.  The Square, London (8)

Notably there are more restaurants making the list from outside London. What does this say about dining in the capital? What do you think to the results this year?

Strange how there are so many conflicting reviews within the industry. Only recently I remember seeing the below article yet the British nomination doesn't appear anywhere on the list?!? http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/diningtravel/restaurants/frankbrunifavoriterestaurants

You make a very good point, Fead. I've not eaten at the Three Chimneys, but I know it's hugely well-regarded - so much so, that Shaun Hill chose to go there when asked to select a restaurant to review for a recent issue of Jamie magazine.
