Seems that there's been some decent results put out by restaurant, pub and hotel companies recently in comparison to where we were a year ago.
However, everyone is worried about job and public spending cuts and what effect they will have.
So are we in for a gradual recovery - having hit bottom - in the sector, or are things going to fall off a cliff in the next six months?
I like to be an optimist... however, I think the country is in for a hard time if predictions for the goverment budget review in October are anything to by.
Surviving this recession will be about how well businesses can reinvent themselves whilst the goverment juggles unemployment, inflation and interest rates, whilst slashing budgets and jobs.
Batton down the hatches...

I'd like to think that the industry will come out of as survivor, but businesses have to adapt to what the recession and the government budget throws at you.
