I came across this article on the BBC website on how for 40 years the celebrity chef has influenced the way we cook at home. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8009970.stm)
It talks of the "Delia Effect" - where supermarkets sold out of ingredients of a dish Delia had cooked on her programme, and then of course there was Jamie Oliver and how the only way to make great roast potatoes was to use goose fat and not forgetting his mission to make kids eat healthier.
Has the rise of the celebrity chef made the consumer much more educated? and has it helped the home cook become more adventurous?
