Hospitality Action is calling for all pub workers to get behind HA Week

Hospitality Action is asking all pub workers to get behind the charity event of the year, Hospitality Action Week.  

The fun-filled fundraising week runs from 17th-23rd May and generates vital funding to care for hospitality workers past and present who have fallen on hard times.

This year, HA are urging every individual worker is raise £5. It has deliberately set a modest target so that people will feel able to meet the challenge.

The easiest way to raise £5 is by going online to enter the HA Big Prize Draw and you could bag yourself a trip to New York.

But don't limit it to this - involve your customers and have fun with colleagues. Here are five fundraising ideas to get you started:

• Hold a quiz night: get the competitive spirit of your customers going and organise a quiz night, charging for team entries.
• Charity race night: whether it's horses or greyhounds, a race night is a great way to raise funds and provides an evening of exciting entertainment for your customers.
• Hold a raffle or prize draw: set up your own raffle with tickets on sale at the bar or sell tickets for Hospitality Action's Big Prize Draw. The first prize is a trip to New York, so they are sure to sell like hot cakes!
• X-Factor night: hold an X-Factor style karaoke night with each contestant having to face a panel of judges. Charge for competition entries and audience votes. You just need to decide who gets to play Simon Cowell.
• Penny-a-pint: for every pint sold during the week donate a penny to Hospitality Action.
