Are people secretly relieved that the recession has come along because it means that they can ditch all that CSR nonsense?
If business is all about making money, and we're now in a time of little money, isn't that the priority, some are asking - rather than planting trees in a nearby field, or sending money for a well a couple of thousand miles away.
CSR has been the biggest change in business reporting in the past decade, with many annual publications having pictures of happy schoolchildren, or healthy food, as they seek to subliminally get across the message that they secretly care.
But now what people care about most is keeping their own job and maintaining the company share price, so will that herald a sea change in our priorities - and our honesty about business practices?
I couldn't agree more, the green issue, forced down our throats by the government, is a complete sham........................designed to take money out of people and make the companies/governments doing it very rich..!! Polution into our seas and rivers is a real issue so lets tackle that, lets stop putting chemicals into our rivers, lets stop putting fats and acids down our drains...............and this goes on massively especially with the amount of take-a-way food outlets that we have..............the councils do not police this happening, but it does happen. Global warming and its ilk are a myth.........................carbon of-setting!!! What a joke.
