Whilst sitting at London Bridge station yesterday I watched a clever promo video for the new Marmite cereal bar, apparently the first savoury cereal bar. Then, by sheer coincidence when I got home 'postie' had delivered my very own bar through my door cleverly disguised as toothpaste with a slogan 'hate mornings'.
Intrigued, I made the family do a taste test - results:
Conclusion, as they say you either "love it or hate it" - which are you?

Intrigued, I made the family do a taste test - results: Dad - undecided, shrug of the shoulders and walked off Son - urgh.......and flew out the back door Mum - confused, brain says should be sweet it's a cereal bar! tastebuds sense savoury - end result not good Dog - sniffed, licked, looked up, looked down, looked at me, pondered then finished the bar Conclusion, as they say you either "love it or hate it" - which are you?
Not tried the new cereal bar, but I am a Marmite lover. Hot buttered toast with Marmite - real comfort food for me! Also love it with cheese and crakers!! yum yum!
Love Marmite! I've just returned from Oz where the word Marmite is a swear word and Vegemite is the favoured product - I personally think they both taste pretty similar! The the new marketing campaign for the cereal bar is great, it's refreshing to see a company undertake investment in a marketing campaign using direct mail, free samples, press advertising and a load more too - it certainly creates impact and keeps the new cereal bar top of mind whether you like it or not.Meanwhile, in Australia Vegemite recently tried to launch a new Vegemite spread witjh the catchy name "ISnack2.0" chosen after a big campaign asking customers for suggestions. Unsuprisingly the name was a complete flop....

Well that really is a bad example of brand advertising!
Marmite on toast is the best!!!!
I don't understand people who don't like it.....good call on the cheese and crackers too!

You should try the chesse and crackers... if you have not already!
Sorry i don't know how can anyone like marmite :))) I think is true the expresion or you love it or you hate it... With so many good spreads, how can people loose time with marmite or in austalia the veg.... i would change any time for a good homemade jam ;)
Marmite is umami in a jar, isn't it? Anyhow, I agree with Ferra: it's hard to see beyond crusty toast slathered with salty butter and a big slug of jam or honey. I hit the motherlode on holiday in Provence when I bought a jar of confiture de lait by Bonne Maman. It's a kind of treacly condensed milk - naughty but really nice.
I absolutely hate it!
My husband loves it. I have to leave the room when he is eating any of the marmite snack products as I find the smell so offensive.
I don't even buy them - his mother treats him occasionally.
mmmmm Marmite crisps are the best ..... though 'andrews' I have to get my other half to leave the room when he eats them not from the taste or smell - it's the damn crunching that I find offensive
Marmite on Toast is a winner ;-)
