Every other day we're reading news of the latest Government spending cuts and it would appear nothing is safe.

The extension of free school meal eligibility has already been scrapped, and so far there has been no word on whether the School Lunch Grant will continue at all, let alone in a capacity that sees cash ring-fenced for food.

Is it conceivable that five years of hard work might be undone? If funding is lumped in with general cash for schools, or stops altogether, is there a danger that services will be reduced or withdrawn altogether?
