The House of Lords quietly approved a set of amendments to the Licensing Act 2003 this week which means that from 6 April this year, the law changes on alcohol promotions in pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels. Operators will also be obliged to offer free tap water.
And from October this year, licensed operators will have to offer 125ml measures of wine, 1/2 pints, and 25 or 35ml measures of spirits. They will also have to ask drinkers who look under 18 for photo ID.
What effect, if any, do you expect the amendments to have on your business? Are you clear on what they actually mean?
